Clock Tower and Sardar Market

The vibrant heart of old Jodhpur, a bustling bazaar surrounding a 19th-century clock tower selling spices, textiles, and Rajasthani handicrafts.

Ghanta Ghar, the Clock Tower, was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in the late 19th century and stands at the centre of the Sardar Market, the largest and most visited bazaar in Jodhpur. The market fans out around the tower in a labyrinth of lanes packed with shops selling Mathania red chillies, spices, Bandhani fabrics, silver jewellery, leather jootis, and traditional handicrafts. The area is best explored on foot, especially in the evening when the lanes fill with street food vendors. The tower serves as the start and end point of heritage walks through the blue city. It is one of the most atmospheric market experiences in Rajasthan.
