Bheem Bhadak, also written Bhim Bhadak, is a Shiva shrine set inside a natural cave beneath a massive rock overhang in the rocky hills west of Jodhpur, about 2 km from Kaylana Lake. Local tradition links the cave to the Pandavas during their exile, and the shrine takes its name from Bhima, the strongest of the brothers. Marble steps lead down to a large black Shivling, said to weigh around 3,200 kg, and a narrow passage deeper in the cave holds a small shrine to Goddess Vaishno Devi. Sparrows nest in the rock crevices and langurs gather on the outcrops outside. A short climb above the cave gives wide views over the hills towards Kaylana Lake, and after the monsoon the slopes turn briefly green. The temple sits inside a military area, so the approach is through an Army checkpoint where visitors must show a valid government photo ID such as an Aadhaar card or driving licence. Photography is not allowed in the military zone, and shoes come off before entering the cave.
