Sonanadi is a remote safari zone on the western side of Corbett Tiger Reserve, named after the Sonanadi river and covering the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary area. Hills, river valleys and dense forest make it a quieter choice than the Ramnagar zones, with elephants, tigers, leopards and good birdlife.
Sonanadi is reached from Kotdwar through the Vatanvasa gate rather than from Ramnagar. It is open from 15 November to 15 June. Permits are issued at the Kotdwar visitor centre, and bookings are also listed on the official portal corbettonline.uk.gov.in. Stay in Kotdwar for an easy start.
