Pakhro is a safari zone in the Kalagarh tiger reserve division on the western side of Corbett Tiger Reserve, reached from the Kotdwar side. Sal forest, grassland and stream beds here support tigers, elephants, deer and many birds, and the zone sees far fewer vehicles than Bijrani or Jhirna.
Pakhro is open from 15 November to 15 June, with morning and afternoon jeep safaris. Book permits on the official portal corbettonline.uk.gov.in; only registered safari gypsies with authorised guides may enter. Kotdwar is the nearest town for stays and transport.
