Kothar is recognized locally for its cluster of old temples and the wide views it offers over Jawai Bandh and the surrounding hills. The village makes a good stop for travelers looking to pair a religious visit with scenic photography, particularly around sunset when the reservoir catches the last light. Its rocky landscape mirrors much of the rest of the Jawai circuit, though Kothar's temples give it a slightly different character than the purely wildlife focused villages nearby.
