Jawai Dam, completed in 1957 across the Jawai River, ranks as the biggest reservoir in western Rajasthan and remains a lifeline for the surrounding Marwar villages. Its waters draw hundreds of mugger crocodiles along with migratory birds including flamingos, bar headed geese, and demoiselle cranes between October and March. Evenings at the dam turn the water gold and red as the sun drops behind the granite hills, making it one of the region's most photographed spots. Boat rides offer a closer look at the wildlife along the banks.
