Vyas Chhatri is a group of sandstone chhatris (domed memorial pavilions) on the Brahmin cremation ground on a ridge north of Jaisalmer Fort. The site is named after the sage Vyasa, author of the Mahabharata. The chhatris stand on raised platforms with carved pillars and small domes, and turn deep gold in the late afternoon light. It is one of the most popular sunset points in Jaisalmer, with a clear view of the fort and the city. Go about half an hour before sunset to find a good spot.
