Patwon ki Haveli is the largest and finest haveli complex in Jaisalmer, built between 1805 and 1860 by wealthy trader Guman Chand Patwa for his five sons. The construction took over 55 years to complete. The five interconnected mansions are covered in extraordinary yellow sandstone carvings, with over 60 jharokhas (balconies), mirror work, painted murals, and delicate jaali screens. One of the havelis has been converted into a museum displaying antique furniture and artifacts. The complex is maintained partly by the Archaeological Survey of India and is considered the finest haveli complex in all of Rajasthan.
