Nathmal ki Haveli was built in the late 19th century for Diwan Mohata Nathmal, the prime minister of Jaisalmer. Two architect brothers, Hathi and Lalu, are said to have built one half each, so the facade looks symmetrical at first but the windows, brackets and carvings differ from side to side. Look for the pair of carved stone elephants at the entrance and the carvings of bicycles, a steam engine and horse carriages, which the craftsmen copied from pictures. Part of the house is still lived in by the family, and the ground floor has craft shops.

- Hours: Usually 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Viewing the facade is free; the family or shopkeepers may ask a small fee to see interior rooms.
- How to Reach: In the old city lanes north of the fort, a short walk from Patwon ki Haveli. Autos cannot enter the narrowest lanes, so walk the last stretch.
