Madan Mahal Fort

Madan Mahal Fort crowns a rocky hilltop built in the 11th century by Raja Madan Singh of the Gond dynasty. This modest but strategically positioned fort served as a military outpost and watchtower overlooking the city. Inside are remnants of stables, a small reservoir, and war rooms carved into rock. The fort's hilltop location provides sweeping panoramic views of Jabalpur and surrounding countryside, particularly stunning at sunrise. A moderate trek up carved stone steps leads to the summit, where visitors can absorb both the strategic genius and architectural simplicity of Gondwana rulers.
