Ita Fort gives Itanagar its name, from the brick and stone walls that once guarded this hill. Sections of the eastern gate and ramparts remain among forested slopes, with enough open walking ground for a short heritage stop. It is the capital's clearest historic landmark and pairs well with a half-day circuit that also includes Ganga Lake and the state museum. Wear good shoes; paths can be uneven after rain.
