Keibul Lamjao National Park floats entirely on phumdis within Loktak Lake, making it the only national park of its kind anywhere in the world. The park serves as the last natural habitat of the endangered Sangai, the brow antlered deer that has become a symbol of Manipur. Visitors can spot the deer alongside migratory birds during the winter months, and the unusual floating terrain itself is as much a draw as the wildlife it supports.
