Mecca Masjid (Makkah Mosque)

One of the oldest and largest mosques in India, Mecca Masjid is a centerpiece of Hyderabad's heritage. Commissioned in 1617, its name originates from the bricks used in the central arch, which were made from soil brought from the holy city of Mecca. The mosque features massive granite pillars and a vast prayer hall that accommodates 10,000 worshippers. Located near Charminar, it is a monumental testament to Indo-Islamic architecture and spiritual significance.
