Rajaji National Park is a sprawling Tiger Reserve covering 820 sq km across the Shivalik ranges in Uttarakhand. The park is best known for its large elephant population, with around 500 elephants making it one of the most significant elephant habitats in northern India. It also has tigers, leopards, bears, chital, sambar, wild boars, and over 400 species of birds. The Chilla range near Haridwar is the most accessible entry point. Jeep safaris and elephant safaris are available during the season. The park is the starting point of the elephant corridor that connects the Himalayas to the Terai forests.
