Sasivekalu Ganesha is a massive monolithic statue of Lord Ganesha, carved from a single boulder. The statue stands 2.4 meters tall and is located on the southern slope of Hemakuta Hill. The name "Sasivekalu" means "mustard seed" in Kannada, and the statue gets its name from a legend associated with it. The statue shows Lord Ganesha in a seated position with his trunk turned to the left, holding a bowl of sweets. The statue is housed in an open pavilion with pillars, and it is one of the most impressive monolithic sculptures in Hampi. The statue was carved in the early 16th century and is a popular pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Ganesha. The location on Hemakuta Hill provides beautiful views of the surrounding area, and the statue is particularly impressive for its size and the quality of its carving.
