Chavakkad Beach lies on the Arabian Sea coast, about 5 km from the Guruvayur Temple, and is one of Thrissur district's most serene beaches. Its defining feature is the Azhimukam, the picturesque confluence where the river meets the sea, visible from the shore. A 30-metre lighthouse built in 1937 offers panoramic coastal views during visiting hours. The beach is lined with coconut groves and lacks heavy commercial activity, making it a peaceful escape for families and pilgrims after the temple. An Ayurvedic herb farm called Ramachapadam lies on its edge.
