Sheesh Mahal Farrukhnagar

Sheesh Mahal Farrukhnagar

Palace built in 1733 by the first Nawab of Farrukhnagar, named for the mirror work in its ceiling, about 28 km west of Gurugram.

The Sheesh Mahal in Farrukhnagar was built in 1733 by Faujdar Khan, the first Nawab of Farrukhnagar, and takes its name from the mirrors once set into its wooden ceiling. It is a state protected monument, and although much of the mirror work has gone, the arched facade still gives a sense of the old walled town. The Baoli Ghaus Ali Shah, an 18th century stepwell, is a short drive away. Farrukhnagar is about 28 km west of central Gurugram, roughly 45 minutes to an hour by road, and pairs well with an early morning at Sultanpur National Park, which lies on the way.
