Alpather Lake (also called Frozen Lake) sits below Apharwat and is a popular summer trek destination from Gulmarg when snow has cleared enough for the trail. In early season the water can still hold ice; later it becomes a clear alpine lake beneath the peak. Go with a local guide if snow patches remain.
