Raidongia Dol

Ruined Ahom-era monument 31km from Dibrugarh, with surviving wall statues from a royal dowry gift.

Raidongia Dol stands in Larua Mouza in the Kalakhowa region, about thirty one kilometres from Dibrugarh, preserving ruined relics from the Ahom kingdom. Tradition holds that the monument, along with a nearby pond and surrounding land, was gifted as dowry by Swargadeo Pramatta Singha when his sister married Raidongia Barua. Around fourteen carved statues remain on the walls today out of an original twenty four, offering a fragmentary but tangible link to Ahom era stonework for visitors willing to travel beyond the city.
