Naulakha Mandir

A soaring 146-foot Radha-Krishna temple built in 1940, modeled on Belur Math, and named for the nine-lakh rupees donated for its construction.

Naulakha Mandir is one of Deoghar's most architecturally distinctive landmarks, a 146-foot-tall temple dedicated to Radha and Krishna situated about 1.5 km from Baidyanath Dham. It was commissioned in 1940 by Rani Charushila Devi of the Pathuria Ghat royal family of Kolkata, who donated nine lakh rupees for its construction, giving the temple its name. The design draws direct inspiration from the Ramakrishna Temple at Belur Math, with ornate stone carvings, a tiered spire, and a serene garden compound. Evening aarti at the temple is a deeply peaceful experience.
