Baiju Temple

Baiju Temple is a quiet but historically significant temple tucked within the city of Deoghar, dedicated to Baiju, the farmer from whose fields the Baidyanath Shiva lingam is said to have been unearthed. According to local tradition, Baiju was the first devotee to find and venerate the lingam before it was enshrined in the now famous Dham complex. The temple honours this founding figure in the spiritual history of Deoghar and is visited by pilgrims who see Baiju as a prototype of devoted faith. The ambience is calm and removed from the crowds of the main temple precinct.
