Khari Baoli runs west from Fatehpuri Masjid at the far end of Chandni Chowk and has been a spice trading area since Mughal times, with the current market dating back to the 17th century. The lanes are packed with sacks of red chilli, turmeric, cardamom, and dry fruit, sold by traders whose families have run the same shops for generations. The Gadodia Market building at the centre has three floors and offers a good view of the mosque and market below from its roof. Chandni Chowk metro station is about a ten minute walk away.
