Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, also known as Darjeeling Zoo, is a specialized zoological park located at an altitude of 2,134 meters, dedicated to the conservation of Himalayan fauna. Established in 1958, the park is home to rare and endangered species including the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, Himalayan Black Bear, and various species of birds. The park is particularly famous for its successful Red Panda breeding program, which has contributed significantly to the conservation of this endangered species. The zoo is set amidst natural forested areas, providing a natural habitat for the animals. Visitors can observe these magnificent creatures up close and learn about conservation efforts.
