Omkareshwara Temple

Omkareshwara Temple is a unique Hindu temple in Madikeri that blends Gothic and Islamic architectural styles, built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II. The temple was constructed as an act of penance after the king killed a Brahmin, and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple features a central dome, four minarets at the corners, and a water tank with a mantapa (pavilion) in the center. The architecture is a fascinating fusion of styles, with Islamic-style arches and Gothic-style spires.
