Iruppu Falls, also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, is a picturesque waterfall located in the Brahmagiri Range, approximately 48 km from Virajpet. The falls are associated with the Ramayana legend, where it is believed that Lord Rama shot an arrow to create a water source for his brother Lakshmana. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 170 feet, creating a spectacular natural display. The area is surrounded by dense forests and is part of the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. The falls are a popular pilgrimage site, especially during the festival of Shivratri, and offer excellent opportunities for trekking and nature photography.
