Brahmagiri Viewpoint, Talakaveri

A hilltop viewpoint above the Talakaveri temple, reached by a steep flight of steps, with wide views over the Western Ghats.

View of the Talakaveri temple complex and the Western Ghats from Brahmagiri hill

Above the Talakaveri temple complex, a flight of stone steps climbs Brahmagiri hill to a viewpoint looking out over the ridges and valleys of Kodagu. On a clear day the hills of the Western Ghats roll away in every direction, and you look straight down on the temple courtyards and the tank where the Kaveri rises. The climb is short but steep, so take it slowly and wear shoes with good grip, especially after rain. Cloud and mist can cover the view within minutes, and early mornings in the dry months usually give the clearest skies.
