Tal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary lies about 85 km from Churu town within the district, set in a flat saline grassland depression unique in Rajasthan's ecology. Declared a protected reserve in 1962, it is best known for its thriving blackbuck population. Chinkara, desert fox, and jungle cat are also regularly spotted. The sanctuary sits on a major migratory bird flyway, making it a prime destination for birdwatchers who come to see Demoiselle Cranes, Indian Bustards, sand grouse, eagles, and bee-eaters. Jeep safaris are available.
