Jain Temple (Kothari Family)

An ornate Jain temple managed by the Kothari family, featuring an unusual blend of neoclassical Italian style with vivid Rajasthani interiors.

This Jain Temple in Churu's heritage quarter is managed by descendants of the Kothari merchant family and stands out for its eclectic architectural character. The exterior and interiors blend neoclassical Italian motifs with Victorian detailing and the vivid colour palette of traditional Shekhawati craftsmanship, resulting in an ensemble unlike most Rajasthani religious architecture. Inside, glassy chessboard-patterned floors and crystal chandeliers coexist with devotional imagery and carved stonework. It forms part of the heritage walking circuit offered by Malji Ka Kamra and is best explored with a local guide.
