Mullayanagiri Peak

Mullayanagiri rises to 1,930 meters and stands as Karnataka's highest peak, part of the Baba Budan Giri range about 16 kilometers from Chikmagalur town. The trek to the summit begins near Sarpadhari and runs three to four kilometers through shola forest and grassland, finishing with several hundred stone steps up to a modest Shiva shrine called Mullappa Swamy Temple at the top. On clear days the summit offers views stretching toward the Arabian Sea, making it the natural centerpiece of any Chikmagalur itinerary built around trekking.
