MGR and Anna Memorial

Standing together at the northern end of Marina Beach, the MGR and Anna Memorial complex holds the burial sites of three influential Tamil Nadu chief ministers: C.N. Annadurai, M.G. Ramachandran, and J. Jayalalithaa. Each memorial includes marble platforms and an eternal flame, and a small museum inside displays photographs and personal items from Annadurai's life. The site draws large numbers of political supporters and curious visitors alike, since all three leaders remain deeply significant figures in Tamil Nadu politics. Most people visit as a natural stop while walking the northern stretch of Marina Beach.
