Zakir Hussain Rose Garden in Sector 16 is Asia's largest rose garden, named after India's third President and established in 1967 under Chandigarh's first Chief Commissioner M.S. Randhawa. Thirty acres of meticulously landscaped beds hold over 1,600 varieties of roses and more than 32,500 species of trees and medicinal plants. The garden hosts an annual Rose Festival in February-March when blooms peak, drawing cultural programmes, competitions and visitors from across North India.
