A major Shakti shrine on the Shivalik foothills in Panchkula drawing lakhs of pilgrims, with a cable car to the hilltop.

Mata Mansa Devi Temple at the foothills of the Shivalik Range in Panchkula, 8 km from Chandigarh, is one of the most important Shakti shrines in North India. The main temple was built by Maharaja Gopal Das Singh of Manimajra between 1811 and 1815 and is dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi, the granter of wishes. The tradition of tying a sacred thread on the holy tree and returning to untie it once a wish is fulfilled draws huge year-round devotion. A cable car connects the lower complex to the hilltop shrine. Navratri sees lakhs of pilgrims.
