Moila Top and Budher Caves

Moila Top and Budher Caves

High meadow with Himalayan views and old limestone caves, about 30 km from Chakrata plus a short trek.

Moila Top is a wide grassy meadow at about 2,590 m with a small Shiva temple and open views of the Himalayan ranges. Drive about 30 km from Chakrata to the Budher Forest Rest House, then walk 2.5 to 3 km up through deodar forest. Near the meadow are the Budher caves, a set of limestone caves that local legend links to the Pandavas. Go with a local guide if you want to enter the caves, and carry a torch. There are no shops on the trail, so take water and snacks, and start early to be down before dark.
