Palpung Sherabling Monastery

Large Tibetan monastery complex in pine forest about 6 to 7 km from Bir, seat of the Tai Situpa lineage.

Palpung Sherabling Monastery is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist complexes near Bir, set in forested hills around Bhattu. The campus includes prayer halls, murals, and artisan workshops linked to traditional metalwork and thangka art. It is a solid half-day visit from Bir for travellers who want a deeper monastery experience beyond the Tibetan Colony.
