Kandraur Bridge

A historic Sutlej crossing once ranked as Asia''s longest bridge, still among the highest anywhere.

Kandraur Bridge spans the Sutlej about eight kilometres from Bilaspur and was once considered the longest bridge in Asia. Rising roughly eighty metres above the river, it remains one of the highest bridges still standing anywhere, carrying traffic across a dramatic limestone gorge. The water below runs strongest in summer as Himalayan snowmelt feeds the Sutlej, and the bridge offers sweeping views of the river valley for anyone stopping along the route between Bilaspur and Kiratpur.
