Mandvi Beach

A picturesque beach and heritage port town 60 km from Bhuj, known for wooden dhow shipbuilding and wind turbines.

Mandvi Beach lies 60 km southwest of Bhuj at the mouth of the Rukmavati River and is one of Gujarat's cleanest and most attractive beaches. The town of Mandvi is historically significant as the main port of Kutch through which trade flowed for centuries, and wooden dhow boats are still hand-built at the riverside shipyard using traditional methods unchanged for 400 years. The beach offers calm swimming, horse rides and sunset views, while the remarkable 17th-century Vijay Vilas Palace, a summer retreat of the Maharaos of Kutch, stands nearby.
