Khamir Craft Resource Centre

A post-earthquake craft revival organisation in Kukma village supporting Kutch artisans in ajrakh, rogan, leather and other crafts.

Khamir is a not-for-profit craft resource centre in Kukma village, 15 km from Bhuj, established after the 2001 earthquake to sustain and develop Kutch's endangered traditional crafts. Its campus includes workshops, studios and a showroom presenting ajrakh block printing, rogan art on fabric, leather craft, metalwork, lacquerware and natural dye textiles. Khamir works with over 5,000 artisans across more than 20 craft traditions and is one of the most important institutions preserving Kutch's cultural identity. The showroom offers some of the best curated craft purchases in the region.
