Mathura Gate Bazaar is Bharatpur's busiest and most popular market, spread around the historic Mathura Gate in the city centre. The market is particularly known for silver jewellery and artefacts, which are sold at relatively affordable prices compared to larger Rajasthani cities. Visitors also find Jaipur handloom fabrics including bandhej sarees and salwar suits, marble carvings, brassware, antiques, Rajasthani footwear and sweet shops throughout. It is the first stop for any shopping in Bharatpur.
