Laxman Mandir in Bharatpur city is a 400-year-old Rajasthani-style temple built from pink sandstone and dedicated to Lord Laxman, the revered younger brother of Rama and presiding deity of the Bharatpur royal house. The temple's carved doors, ornate arched niches, decorated pillars and marble floor are examples of fine Rajput craftsmanship. The main sanctum houses Ashtadhatu metal alloy idols of Laxman and his wife Urmila, accompanied by smaller figures of Ram, Bharat, Shatrughan and Hanuman.
