Shri Doddabasavanna Temple, popularly known as the Bull Temple, is a significant heritage site in Basavanagudi. It is dedicated to Nandi, the sacred mount of Lord Shiva, and houses one of the world’s largest monolithic idols of a bull. Carved from a single granite rock, the statue is continuously polished with charcoal and oil. This 16th-century temple is also the focal point of the famous Kadalekai Parishe (Groundnut Fair) celebrated annually.
