Kappe Chennigaraya Temple stands south of the main Chennakeshava shrine and was built by Queen Shantala Devi as a smaller companion temple. It has two sanctums, one for Chennigaraya and one for Venugopala, and shares the same stellate Hoysala plan in a quieter corner of the complex. Carved wall figures of Vishnu forms and goddesses repay a close look after the main temple crowds. Visit it on the same ticketed circuit rather than treating it as a separate stop outside Belur.
