Prem Sarovar

A boat shaped sacred pond a kilometer from Barsana on the road to Nandgaon, tied to a Radha Krishna legend.

Prem Sarovar lies about a kilometer north of Barsana on the road toward Nandgaon, its boat shaped outline set among kadamba trees. Legend holds that the pond formed from the tears of Radha and Krishna during a moment of separation, giving it the name Prem. Sages including the saint Narayan Bhatt are said to have meditated at its banks. The site remains far quieter than the main temple complex, making it a peaceful stop between Barsana and Nandgaon.
