Bheem Pul is a giant natural rock bridge spanning the Saraswati River in Mana Village, about 4 km from Badrinath. According to the Mahabharata, Bhima placed this enormous boulder across the turbulent river so Draupadi could cross safely during the Pandavas' final journey toward heaven. The Saraswati rushes beneath with tremendous force before merging with the Alaknanda at Keshav Prayag nearby. Standing on the bridge with the river churning below and the Himalayan peaks above is one of the most dramatic and memorable moments of the entire Badrinath yatra.
