Agastya Lake

Sacred spring fed lake between Badami's two hills, believed to hold healing waters and framed by temples.

Agastya Lake fills the ravine between Badami's northern and southern hills, said to have been created by the sage Agastya and believed to carry healing properties. The cave temples rise above its southwest bank while the Bhutanatha temples line the eastern shore. Early morning walks along the banks offer some of the best photography in town, with the sandstone cliffs and temple towers reflected in calm water.
