Padmapuram Botanical Garden is best known for its hanging tree houses, raised on stilts with attached toilets and running water, a legacy of the garden's earlier use supplying vegetables to soldiers during World War II. A toy train circles the grounds, making it a favorite with families, while a horticulture nursery run by the Tribal Welfare Department showcases plants native to the Eastern Ghats. It remains one of Araku's most visited stops and a good introduction to the valley's greenery.
