Kesar Da Dhaba

A century old Amritsar dhaba near the Golden Temple, famous for rich Punjabi thalis and dal makhani cooked in pure desi ghee.

Kesar Da Dhaba sits down a narrow lane near the Golden Temple, carrying a legacy that stretches back over a hundred years to its founding before Partition. The dhaba keeps its simple, no frills setup while serving classic Punjabi dishes including dal makhani, paneer tikka, and stuffed paranthas, all prepared with generous amounts of desi ghee. Its signature Dal Makhani, slow cooked with butter and cream, draws visitors alongside flaky lachha paratha and creamy phirni served in clay pots. The crowded, noisy ambiance only adds to its old world charm.
