Bhangarh Fort, in Alwar district on the edge of Sariska Tiger Reserve, is a 17th century fortified town abandoned for centuries and widely marketed as India's most haunted site. Crumbling havelis, temples, and palace remains spread across a forested hillside, with the Archaeological Survey of India restricting entry after sunset. Its reputation draws considerable tourist traffic independent of any real evidence of paranormal activity, and it is commonly combined with Sariska, Alwar and the Abhaneri stepwell on itineraries from Jaipur.
