Crank's Ridge

Crank's Ridge, also called Hippie Hill, runs just outside Kasar Devi village and became known in the 1960s when Western travellers stayed along this ridge. The walk is short, through pine and oak, with open views toward the high peaks. Combine it with Kasar Devi Temple rather than treating it as a separate day. Stay in Almora or in Kasar Devi village and go in the morning for clearer air.
