Hirakot Fort

Hirakot Fort, also known as Diamond Fort, was constructed from basalt stone and ranks among the notable forts scattered across the Alibaug region. Though smaller in scale than Kolaba Fort, it adds to the town's dense concentration of Maratha era fortifications built to protect the coastline. History enthusiasts touring Alibaug's forts typically include Hirakot alongside Kolaba and the more distant Khanderi and Underi island forts.
