Marari Beach is one of the cleanest and most unspoiled beaches in Kerala, located about 11 km north of Alappuzha near the fishing village of Mararikulam. The beach is far less commercialised than the main Alappuzha Beach and retains the authentic character of a Kerala fishing village. Traditional wooden fishing boats line the sand, fishermen mend nets in the shade of coconut palms, and the water is generally calmer and cleaner than at the town beach. Several boutique resorts and eco-lodges have opened here, making it a favoured destination for those seeking a quieter Kerala beach experience. Sunrise walks along Marari Beach with the fishing boats setting out are one of the most evocative experiences in the region.
